HOW TO USE IT
Some animals have more than one laceration, especially in bite wounds.
Traumatic bite wounds can easily be infested with fly larvae (miosis).
All types of lesions, including infested ones, can be treated daily with HYPERMIX®
CLEAN with saline or mild soap and water (Marseille) and remove the necrosis.
The use of disinfectant is not recommended, as it is histolesive and retards the healing process.
To avoid self-inflicted trauma, animals that show doggedness on injuries are advised to be fitted with a protective collar.
At the discretion of the treating veterinarian, and depending on the severity and extent of wounds, administer systemic antibiotic therapy, according to practice.
APPLY HYPERMIX® in oily formulation during the acute phase: resolution of the inflammatory phase is achieved in 5±2 days.
Subsequently, in the granulation phase, HYPERMIX® in gel formulation is recommended to be used over the entire injured surface until complete resolution.
HYPERMIX® is undesirable to the dipterans that colonize wounds, allowing them to be managed even during critical periods (summer season, poor sanitary conditions).
Cattle - Traumatic injury
Testimony of: Dr. Brafa Gianluca
Animal Category: Ruminants (Cattle)
Pathology category: traumatic injury
Description: The subject had a deep injury, with excessive granulation tissue, at the level of the metacarpal of the right forelimb resulting from impasto. Initially, after the removal of the rope, which had injured the tissues up to the height of the metacarpal bone, the wound had been treated by the breeder only with silver nitrate spray, without obtaining positive results.
Product used: HYPERMIX® oily formulation
Mode of application: The patient was treated daily with gauze heavily soaked with HYPERMIX® maintained over the injured area by permanent bandaging. No cotton or other thicknesses were interposed between the lesion and the bandage, which was renewed daily. It was decided to implement this technique, which is recommended for the treatment of horse keloids, because of the presence of abundant granulation tissue. The lesion healed completely within about five months.

Bottlenose dolphin - rostrum injury
Testimony by: Veterinary staff of Zoomarine Italy, Rome
Animal category: bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus)

Description: localized wound on the ventral surface of the rostrum of a 1-year-old bottlenose dolphin pup housed at Zoomarine Italy. The wound was immediately cleaned with warm saline solution, disinfected and the flap of skin removed. No systemic therapy was performed because blood analysis showed no significant changes. Local therapy was performed by applying HYPERMIX® in an oily formulation.
Product used: HYPERMIX® oily formulation
Mode of application: Local therapy was carried out by applying to the wound 2 times a day by voluntary behavior. After one month of local therapy, the wound was completely healed.
Resolution time: 1 month
